Trevor R Nunn made this Freedom of Information request to Bristol City Council
The request was successful.
From: Trevor R Nunn
7 January 2009
Dear Sir or Madam,
During the last five years how many times has the Local Government
Ombudsman (as a result of investigating a complaint against Bristol
City Council) brought to the attention of the council the fact that
a member of Bristol City Council staff had misled them, lied to
them or done anything else to hinder their investigation. If they
have what disciplinary action was taken against the individual(s)
concerned by the council.
Yours faithfully,
Trevor R Nunn

Dear Freedom of Information,
I believe it was sent to the same address that my request for an
internal review was sent to. However, if you can't find the
original then please view this as new request rather than an
internal review.

Dear Mr Nunn
I write in response to your recent email to our FoI team. Firstly let
me apologise to you for the delay in responding. Having read the
information on the “whatdotheyknow” website, I believe there are two
issues to be dealt with. One is a response to your enquiry of 7 January
2009 and the second is request of 13 July 2009, for an investigation
into the earlier request.
In response to your FoI request, I can confirm that there have been no
occasions in the last 5 years in which the Ombudsman has “brought to
the attention of the council the fact that a member of Bristol City
Council staff had misled them, lied to them or done anything else to
hinder their investigation”. You may want to confirm this with the
Ombudsman.
In terms of the investigation, I note that the FoI team responded to
you on 28 July 2009, stating that your email of 7 January 2009 had not
been received and they were unaware of your request until they received
your email dated 13 July 2009. No explanation for this is available but
it is likely that it was some form of technical fault.
This response should answer your request in full and should also have
dealt with the complaint you had about your request. Should you wish to
take this matter further, you will now need to do so with the
Information Commissioner, details of your right to complain can be found
at http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints.aspx

Dear Tim Sheppard,
Thank you for your response. As far as I am concerned this matter
has now been satisfactorily concluded.
