Dear Sir or Madam,
During the last five years how many times has the Local Government
Ombudsman (as a result of investigating a complaint against West
Lancashire District Council) brought to the attention of the
council the fact that a member of West Lancashire District Council
staff had misled them, lied to them or done anything else to hinder
their investigation. If they have what disciplinary action was
taken against the individual(s) concerned by the council.
Yours faithfully,
Trevor R Nunn

Dear Mr Nunn
Thank you for your request for information in relation to investigations
by the Local Government Ombudsman.
I can advise you that there are no instances of the Local Government
Ombudsman bringing to the attention of the Council the fact that a member
of staff had misled them, lied to them or done anything else to hinder
their investigation. It follows therefore that there has been no related
disciplinary action taken by the Council.
If you have any queries concerning the information provided, please do not
hesitate to contact me. If you are still unhappy with the response you
are entitled to pursue any dissatisfaction through the Council's
Complaints Procedure by writing to Mrs G L Rowe, Council Secretary and
Solicitor.
Yours sincerely
Gary Martin
