LGO investigations.

Trevor R Nunn made this Freedom of Information request to Tunbridge Wells Borough Council

The request was successful.

From: Trevor R Nunn

14 January 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

During the last five years how many times has the Local Government
Ombudsman (as a result of investigating a complaint against
Tunbridge Wells Borough Council) brought to the attention of the
council the fact that a member of Tunbridge Wells Borough Council
staff had misled them, lied to them or done anything else to hinder
their investigation. If they have what disciplinary action was
taken against the individual(s) concerned by the council.

Yours faithfully,

Trevor R Nunn

Dear Mr Nunn

I write in response to your Freedom of Information Act request that you forwarded on 14 January 2009.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council publishes statistics provided by the Local Government Ombudsman, relating to investigations involving our Council. These reports are published on the website, and the link to locate these reports is http://www.tunbridgewells.gov.uk/section... (the reports are provided at the bottom of this website page). Notes to interpret the statistics are also available on that website page.

Each report shows figures for the previous 2 years, so by viewing reports for 2008, 2007 and 2006 you can see the details for the full 5 years that you requested.

If you cannot access the link I have included all 3 reports, and the notes.

The reports confirm that over the period of time requested, no Local Government Ombudsman investigations have concluded with findings of maladministration.

I hope this information is helpful. If you have any further queries please contact me on 01892 554077 or via e-mail to [email address]
