Dear Sir or Madam,
During the last five years how many times has the Local Government
Ombudsman (as a result of investigating a complaint against Redcar
& Cleveland Council) brought to the attention of the council the
fact that a member of Redcar & Cleveland Council staff had misled
them, lied to them or done anything else to hinder their
investigation. If they have what disciplinary action was taken
against the individual(s) concerned by the council.
Yours faithfully,
Trevor R Nunn

I can confirm that this kind of information is not recorded or held by the
Authority. Incidentally, neither myself nor the previous complaints
manager, can recall ever having such an allegation made by the Local
Government Ombudsman. In order to be helpful and to assist you, I suggest
you contact the Local Government Ombudsman direct to determine if they
hold the information you seek. Their contact telephone number for Beverley
House in York is 01904 380 200.
I hope that this satisfies your request for information. If you are not
satisfied with how your request has been dealt with then you are free to
make a complaint either to the Council or to the Information Commissioner.
You will find details of the complaints procedure on the Council's Website
at
http://www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/YrCou...
(alternatively by using the A-Z Index from the home page). The Information
Commissioner is an independent person who has responsibility for
overseeing the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Freedom of Information Act
2000. More details can be obtained from the Information Commissioner***s
website at [1]www.ico.gov.uk .
