that a member of Penwith District Council staff had misled them,

Dear Mr Nunn

Further to your request for information under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000, dated 12 January 2009.

The Councils Monitoring Officer has confirmed that since he became
Monitoring Officer in July 2005, there have been no times when the "Local
Government Ombudsman (as a result of investigating a complaint against
Penwith District Council) brought to the attention of the Council the fact
that a member of Penwith District Council staff had misled them, lied to
them or done anything else to hinder their investigation"

For your information we only operate a 14 month retention policy on our
Local Government Ombudsman complaints.

Please find attached a copy of the Council's Freedom of Information
Complaints Procedure for your information.
