Dear Sir or Madam,
During the last five years how many times has the Local Government
Ombudsman (as a result of investigating a complaint against
Birmingham City Council) brought to the attention of the council
the fact that a member of Birmingham City Council staff had misled
them, lied to them or done anything else to hinder their
investigation. If they have what disciplinary action was taken
against the individual(s) concerned by the council.
Yours faithfully,
Trevor R Nunn

Response:
There is no instance in which the Ombudsman has stated that any Birmingham
City Council officer has misled her, lied to her or hindered her
investigation in any way.
Consequently, we are not aware of any disciplinary action.
If you are not satisfied with the response you may ask for an internal
review. If subsequently you are not satisfied with the Council’s decision
you may apply to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally,
the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints
