LGO investigations.

Trevor R Nunn made this Freedom of Information request to Newham Borough Council

The request was successful.

From: Trevor R Nunn

12 January 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

During the last five years how many times has the Local Government
Ombudsman (as a result of investigating a complaint against Newham
Borough Council) brought to the attention of the council the fact
that a member of Newham Borough Council staff had misled them, lied
to them or done anything else to hinder their investigation. If
they have what disciplinary action was taken against the
individual(s) concerned by the council.

Yours faithfully,

Trevor R Nunn

Dear Sir or Madam,

I submitted a Freedom of Information request about LGO
investigations in January 2009, the council responded on the 16th
January 2009 concluding this particular FOI request,

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/lg...

On the 11th October 2009 I submitted another Freedom of Information
request regarding LG Act 1974 Part III Section 32(3) notices,
however, your response has been sent to the wrong FOI request.

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/lg...

Hope the above explains the matter. Each FOI request submitted via
the What Do They Know website has a unique URL and return address
based on the title of the request.

Yours faithfully,

Trevor R Nunn

Dear Sir/Madam,

It is important that you refer to the correct referrence number that we give you for each of your request, as we have thousands of request, and it would help us identiy for precise request.

However, we still do not understand what you are saying, as we have not responded to the request which you made just a couple of days ago, reference E4999. The Target date for that request is 09/11/09, and we hope to respond to you on or before that date.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I will try one last time to explain. I submitted a Freedom of
information request using the What Do They Know website about LGO
investigations this was given the reference number E3458 by your
council. You supplied the information and the FOI request was
CLOSED months ago!

I recently submitted another quite different FOI request called LG
Act 1974 Part III Section 32(3).

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/lg...

It is important that you acknowledge and respond to the correct
Freedom of Information request.

Why do you insist on sending all the acknowledgements and responses
to my new FOI request called LG Act 1974 Part III section 32(3)
notices as an acknowledgement and responses to a old and CLOSED FOI
request.

If you check the links provided you will be able to see that you
are responding to the wrong FOI request. Please respond to the
correct FOI request. In addition if you had replied to the FOI
request it would have automatically been directed to the correct
page. Someone in your council must have removed the return address
for my new FOI request and substituted it for the return address of
my earlier FOI request. Why?

Yours faithfully,

Trevor R Nunn

Dear Sir or Madam,

This response has nothing to do with my Freedom of Information
request regarding LGO investigation. You responded to that
satisfactorily in January 2009. Therefore, please respond to the
correct Freedom of Information request via the correct return
address given for that response.

Yours faithfully,

Trevor R Nunn

Can you please provide us with our reference number, which would allow us to locate the request that you are refering to. It start with an 'E' and has four numbers following it.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I think you are wrongly sending responses about a different and
later FOI request to the earlier concluded one called LGO
Investigations.

Why should I supply you with a reference number for a Freedom of
Information Request about LGO investigations that was
satisfactorily concluded in January 2009.

The only Freedom of information request I am still waiting for a
response to is Freedom of Information request called Section 32(3)
notices.

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/lg...

And up to now you have not responded to that FOI request with an E
number so how am I supposed to know it.

For the records I have tried on numerous occasions to clarify the
situation.

Yours faithfully,

Trevor R Nunn

For some bizarre reason the council keep reopening this FOI request which was satisfactorily concluded in January 2009.

The latter correspondence on this thread refers to the request at:

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/lg...

WhatDoTheyKnow.com has written to Newham Borough Council to explain that every request made via the site has its own unique email address.

If we are alerted to cases where correspondence has been posted to the wrong request we are happy to move it. (That is probably preferable to entering into correspondence on the matter with the authority).

In this case, as correspondence has been entered into, I will not move the requests to the correct threads and disrupt the exchange.
