Dear Sir or Madam,

During the last five years how many times has the Local Government
Ombudsman (as a result of investigating a complaint against
Harrogate Borough Council) brought to the attention of the council
the fact that a member of Harrogate Borough Council staff had
misled them, lied to them or done anything else to hinder their
investigation. If
they have what disciplinary action was taken against the
individual(s) concerned by the council.

Dear Mr. Nunn,

I refer to your enquiry earlier today. In the past 5 years the ombudsman has only issued one critical report about Harrogate B.C.

That related to the way in which a Planning Application was dealt with by an Area Planning committee in 2005 and it contained absolutely no criticisms of officer behaviour.
