Dear Mr Nunn
Bolton Council is able to provide the following information in response to your request below.
We currently hold records of Ombudsman complaints from 2006 onwards.
(1) During this time we have used section 32(3) of the Local Government Act 1974 in 6 cases.
(2) The Ombudsman has not found us guilty of maladministration for using section 32(3) in any of these cases.
I must apologise for the delay in providing this response. This was unfortunately due to the volume of requests and other work currently being handled by the Corporate Information Unit. I note that you have also asked for an internal review of this request. As we have now answered the request, if you would still like us to proceed with the review, please confirm this and I will ask the Monitoring Officer to carry out the review.
