Subject: Request for information regarding the Local Government Ombudsman
Act Part III Section 32 (3).
Thank you for your recent request for information received by this office
on 12th October 2009. Your request is being dealt with under the terms of

Thank you for your recent request for information which was received by
this office on 11 October 2009. I am sorry for the short delay in our
response; the records are not held centrally and it has been necessary to
search all the files on Ombudsman complaints during the previous five
years in order to answer your queries.
In answer to your questions:
During the last five years
1. How many Local Government Act Part III Section 32(3) notices has your
council served on a Local Government Ombudsman.
For the period Oct 2004 to date the County Council has served 14 Section
32(3) notices on the Local Government Ombudsman.
2. No question listed.
3. How many times has the Ombudsman concerned found the council guilty of
maladministration for misusing a Section 32(3) notice.
There have been no findings of maladministration related to misuse of a
Section 32(3) notice during the last five years.
