I make this request under the Freedom of Information Act.
I would like to know:
a) How many times in the last five years (namely FY 2004/5 -
2008/9) Ordnance Survey has undertaken legal action in relation to
infringement of Ordnance Survey intellectual property by public
sector organisations?
b) What was the total cost of this legal action?
c) Could you please provide a breakdown of total costs of the legal
action relating to i) central government organisations ii) local
government organisations?
If exact costs are not available, please provide an estimate.

Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). As your request was received by us

Thank you for your email dated 5 May 2009 requesting information relating
to the following questions:

We are pleased to inform you that in relation to question a) above, we
have reviewed our files and can confirm that we have no record of Ordnance
Survey having undertaken legal action in the last five years against
public sector organisations in relation to infringement of Crown
Copyright. Therefore, information relating to questions b) and c) above
is not held.
Please note that your enquiry has been processed to Freedom of Information
guidelines. To the extent that the Public interest (section 17) applies,
we have determined that in all the circumstances of the case as no
information is held then the public interest need not be applied in this
instance.
