authority, or any company that is owned, operated or connected to
the authority, relating to the land-filling arrangements in
relation to waste arising in the authority's area.

Freedom of Information Act 2000 *** Request for Information-Reference No

I am writing in respect of your recent enquiry for information held by the
Authority under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please find herewith the following:

The City Council has a 25 year waste disposal conrtact with Veolia
Environmental Services Birmingham Ltd (VESB - part of the Veolia
Enviromnental Services multi-national waste management group). Our
contract requires them to arrange for the disposal of waste through
recycling, composting, incineration with energy recovery and landfill.

VESB are required to establish arrangements for waste going to landfill
and have set up a number of contracts to meet this need, each of which is
commercially confidential to them and their contracts not ours.

We do not hold any documents relating to landfilling or contracts taken
out by Veolia ourselves other than the tonnages involved in the process so
that we can measure performance. The document attached below shows last
years activity in summary.

If you are not satisfied with the response you may ask for an internal
review.
