Dear Gill ,
Thank you for the information supplied, can you please confirm
under what circumstances nominees/sponsors addresses are displayed
at electrol stations, as I do recall that in some instances these
have been on display. Would the same rules of disclosure operate at
both county and local elections.
Yours faithfully,
J Lawson

Dear J Lawson
There are no circumstances where the addresses of the people signing a nomination paper are published. The addresses are not given on the nomination paper and are NOT required on the Notice of Poll. The rules are the same for Borough and County elections (both called local government elections and both are principal councils).
"In the case of principal council elections a separate notice of poll is required. It must be published by the Returning Officer at the same place as a notice of election is required to be published. It must specify:
(a) the day and hours fixed for the poll;
(b) the number of councillors to be elected;
(c) the particulars of each candidate remaining validly nominated (the names and other particulars of the candidates, and the order of the names of the candidates, being the same as in the statement of persons nominated);
(d) the names of all persons signing a candidates nomination paper."
