Did John van de Laarschot attend a Conference on 17th October 2006,
for Torridge District Council business or in a personal capacity?
Who paid for his travel, accommodation and meals?

If John van de Laarschot attended on Council business please
provide any invoices and any expenses claimed.

If John van de Laarschot attended in a personal capacity did he
make any declaration of any gifts or hospitality received, if so
please provide evidence of these declarations.

Did John van de Laarschot ever declare any professional or personal
involvement with Vanguard?

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request.

John van de Laarschot did attend a conference on 17th October 2006 and gave a presentation as Chief Executive of Torridge District Council.

Torridge District Council paid for his mileage (175 miles each way @ 42.4p per mile). We have no record of any other expenses claimed.

I can find no record of John van de Laarschot declaring any professional or personal involvement with Vanguard.

If you have any complaints in respect of your information request, please write to the Freedom of Information Officer at Torridge District Council, Riverbank House, Bideford EX39 2QG. If your complaint is not resolved to your complete satisfaction, you have the right to apply to the Information Commissioner for a decision.
