Dear Mr Connely,

Thank you for your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for information on IT suppliers and cost.

You asked for:

The purchasing is conducted by our Information Systems and Information Technology (ISIT) team. I am afraid that I am unable to disclose the names of the individual purchasers, as there are exemptions which we consider prevent us doing so. We believe that S.40 Personal Information exemption applies to this request, as to release the details of these persons would breach one of the principles of the Data Protection Act. This is an absolute exemption where the public interest test does not apply.

I hope this response answers your questions.

However, if you are unhappy with the decision regarding your request for information you should inform me in writing. I will arrange for an officer who has not had any involvement with this request to review our decision. If you are still unhappy after that, a further request can be made to the Information Commissioner, who will decide whether the request was dealt with in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act. Further information is available on the Information Commissioner's website: www.informationcommissioner.gov.uk.

Yours sincerely,

Yvonne Peart
