Dear James Connely,

Thank you for your enquiry under the Freedom of Information Act (2000)
with regards to a list of information technology suppliers, contractors
and consultants used by the National Museum of Science and Industry, the
total procurement expenditure in 2009 for information technology hardware
and the contact details of Museum staff whose responsibility it is to
undertake information technology procurement. If I may I will address each
of your points in turn:

i) Suppliers, consultants and contractors currently used by the National
Museum of Science and Industry:

1. Autodata Ltd

2. Hewlett Packard Ltd

3. Phoenix Software Ltd

4. Access UK Ltd

5. TOR Systems Ltd

6. Ticketmaster Systems Ltd

7. Lexara Ltd

8. iBase Media Services Ltd

9. Eduserv Technologies Ltd

10. ACSN Ltd

11. Iron Mountain UK Ltd

12. Convergent Network Solutions Ltd

13. Micron Cleaning Services Ltd

14. GE Consumer & Industrial Ltd

15. Bottomline Technologies Europe Ltd

16. Eurodata Systems Plc

17. FMK Solutions

18. Software Europe Ltd

19. NCC Services Ltd

20. Wireless Edge Communications

21. Selection Services Plc

22. MessageLabs Ltd (I believe this company has recently been purchased by
Symantec).

23. British Telecom Plc

24. Opal Telecom

25. InTechnology Plc

26. Telecity Group

27. System Professional Ltd

28. Misco

29. Equanet

30. Insight

ii) Total expenditure on information technology hardware across the
National Museum of Science and Industry for 2009 (including projects):

£503,540 (Project budgets)

£130,000 (Operational budgets)

£633,530 (Total)

iii) Contact details of Museum employees responsible for procurement of
information technology hardware:

1. Sarmad Al-Asadi - Information Communication Technology, Finance &
Procurement Analyst (majority of information technology procurement)

2. Dave Patten - Head of New Media (occasional procurement of information
technology equipment)

Please note that due to the nature of the Museum's procurement system my
colleague, Sarmad Al-Asadi, was able to compile the operational budget
relating to information technology procurement fairly easily. However
project budgets unfortunately do not form part of the same system. The
Finance & Procurement Analyst (Sarmad) manually reviewed project budgets
for the past calendar year to compile the figures supplied.

Owing to the small project based anomaly there is a chance a project
figure may have been inadvertently omitted; however I feel that the above
figure is a fair and actuate account of the Museum's information
technology 2009 procurement expenditure as every endeavour has been taken
to ensure the correct amounts have been supplied.

I trust this information is of some use to you and I wish you all the best
with your research, however, should you feel that your enquiry has not
been answered to your full satisfaction please feel free to contact the
Museum in order for an internal review to be conducted into the handling
of your enquiry on the following:

Freedom of Information,

Records Manager,

Science Museum

Exhibition Road

Email: [1][email address]

Should you still feel dissatisfied following an internal museum review,
you may seek an independent review from the Information Commissioner's
Office.

Requests for a review by the Information Commissioner's Office should be
made in writing directly to:

The Information Commissioner

Wycliffe House
