According to the scrolling banner on
http://www.iwf.org.uk/reporting.htm the British Broadcasting
Corporation provides funding to the Internet Watch Foundation.

Please provide the following information:

1) a yearly breakdown of the money you have given to this
organisation

2) details of what you are buying for this money

3) a summary of your dealings with this organisation

Please note that "replies" which involve attachments in proprietary
file formats are not acceptable. A reply which is not in plain text
format will be deemed to be a refusal to answer.

Thank you for your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 ("the Act") dated 10 December. You requested:

Please find below the information you requested. I have responded to each of your questions in turn:

1. We have been paying a membership subscription of £5000 (plus VAT) per annum to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) since January 2004. In addition, we paid £180 (plus VAT) in 2004 towards the initial set-up of our membership.
2. This money is payment for our Full Membership to the IWF. As a member of the IWF, the BBC supports the work of the organisation which includes initiatives to limit the distribution of child sexual abuse content hosted worldwide. 3. The BBC is an active member of the Funding Council of the IWF. Please visit - http://www.iwf.org.uk/funding/page.62.htm for further details.
