Dear Sir or Madam,
After being a recent victim of DVLA losing a Recorded delivery post
item internally after it was signed for I have the following
questions.
1. How many Special delivery items not including SORN declarations
have been lost internally after being signed for by a DVLA post
room?
2. How many Recorded delivery items not including SORN declarations
have been lost internally after being signed for by a DVLA post
room?
3. How many regular delivery (1st/2nd class)items not including
SORN declarations have been lost internally after being accepted by
a DVLA post room?
4. How many SORN declarations sent by Recorded or Special delivery
have been lost internally after being signed for by a DVLA post
room?
5. How many SORN declarations sent by standard mail services have
DVLA refuted service of?
Please provide answers to the above questions with the numbers
separated into years for the last ten years.
Yours faithfully,
James Collins

Dear Mr Batchelor
Thank you for your reply I just need some clarification of your
answers.
I recently submitted a SORN declaration by recorded delivery which
was signed for and subsequently lost within DVLA. By what you have
said it would appear that my case would never make it into the
official statistics as I have never made a complaint, would this be
correct?
Also from previous discussions with DVLA I have been informed that
your post rooms are audited yearly, how exactly is this possible if
you don't retain records of missing post merely missing post that
complaints are made about?
Yours sincerely,
James Collins
