Dear Ms James,
I refer to your request for information regarding pet shops, which was
received on 19th November, 2009 and has been dealt with under the
Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Your request was set out as follows:
"Please can you forward to be the latest inspection reports 2009)for pet
shops licenced under the Pet Animals Act 1951.
Please can you number each individual one (1-13)for example."
We have previously numbered reports in response to requests as it has
been necessary to redact them to remove personal information relating to
dog breeders using their homes as businesses.
However, in this case, a number of the licensees are shops which
advertise and are open to the public, such as the chain store 'Pets at
Home'. It has not been necessary to edit these reports, other than
where a person's home address appears alongside the details of the
keyholder, for instance, or when an employee other than the licence
holder is named. I have also removed telephone numbers where these are
not the published numbers for the shops, as it is likely that these are
home telephone numbers.
Personal data relating to dog breeders/farms who also have pet shop
licences has been removed on the same basis as in previous responses.
Therefore, please find attached copies of the latest inspection reports
in respect of pet shop licences in Carmarthenshire.
If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact
me.
Yours sincerely
