Dear ASCHHFOI,

Sorry. This is meant for all boroughs, and I've forgotten to change
the wording for the request to Hillingdon. So please treat Question
8 as it applies to Hillingdon.

I look forward to your reply.

Yours sincerely,

Gokhan Ozen

Dear Gokhan Ozen

I am writing in response to your Freedom of Information Request below
and further to the clarification you supplied on the 31st July 2010.

As I understand it you are requesting to know:

1. Number of buses you have for TASC
19 vehicles generally operate for ASCH&H although vehicles will operate
for SEN as well.

2. What is the capacity of the buses
Generally 12 seats although there are some smaller and carrying
capacity varies depending on wheelchair carriage and other individual
needs.

3. Which locations does TASC provide a service to (eg. day centres)
10 sites Mon - Fri. 2 on Saturdays. Asha, Grassy Meadow, Poplar Farm,
Eastbury Road, Leap Centre, Woodside, Park View, RAGC, Maple Road,
Phoenix

4. What are the operating hours (weekdays and weekends)
Generally 07.30 - 18.00 weekdays 07.30 - 17.15 Saturdays.

5. Is there any limit on the number of journeys users are allowed to
make?
No

6. How many individual journeys does the service provide per annum
(a trip to a day centre is counted as two journeys, out and return)?
106,600.

7. How do people qualify for the service? Do you use Occupational
Therapists for the assessment?
Service users would only be offered transport if we were funding a
package of care eg attendance at a day service funded by the council.
The need would be identified by the care manager during the assessment
and if they meet the FACS criteria

8. How many registered users does Hillingdon have?
440

9. Please supply a breakdown of users according to age, gender, And
nature of disability
We are unable to answer this question as our system does not enable us
to run the necessary reports to extract and collate the requested
information.

10. Does the borough provide travel training? If so, do you send out
travel trainers with users?
The borough commissions the Private &Voluntary sector to provide travel
training as part of an outreach package where it is appropriate. When
carrying out this role the trainers work on specific routes with users
taking them with them and then gradually reducing input as skills
improve.

11. Do you supplement your own service with, for example, taxis, Or
other transport?
We use additional taxi for individual packages that are not on the
routes or if for some reason a user cannot use to borough buses.

12. What is the total annual expenditure on TASC in the borough?
£1,400,000 FLEET COSTS ONLY

13. Have you implemented personal budgets for social care? If so, do
users have a personal travel budget for the TASC service?
Personal budgets went live this month for users receiving day and dom
care. Where users have chosen to remain with borough transport as part
of their package we are not giving them the transport part of the budget
as this is presently calculated as a recharge and we do not have the
systems yet to include this in the calculation.

14. Do you provide TASC in-house, or work via contractors?
In House
