Dear Sir or Madam,
I am requesting information regarding:
1. The number of current private hire driver badges issued within
Knowsley.
2. The number of current private hire plates for vehicles within
Knowsley.
3. The number of current Hackney driver badges issued within
Knowsley.
4. The number of current Hackney vehicle plates within Knowsley.
5. The number of current operator licences issued within Knowsley.
6. The amount of money received in the most recent financial year
from the above broken down by the categories listed above.
7. How much of the money in 6. above is used for running the
licensing department at Knowsley Council and how much is
transferred to the Knowsley Council general finances.

Dear Mr Mackie
Further to your recent request for information I provide the following
response.
1. There are currently (as of 3 November 2009) 1327 licensed private
hire drivers in Knowsley;
2. There are 1224 licensed private hire vehicles
3. There are 300 licensed hackney carriage drivers;
4. There are 240 licensed hackney carriages
5. There are 27 licensed private hire operators;
6. Income received during the financial year (2008/9) in respect of
each of the above is as follows;
Private hire drivers - £95,014
Private hire vehicles - £246, 670
Hackney carriage drivers - £17,052
Hackney carriages - £51, 224
Private hire operators - £12,240
7. All income from the above categories is used to run the Licensing
Service, no income is transferred to general finances.
