Dear Mr White,

Ref: FOI101000221448 Freedom of Information Request

Further to my attached acknowledgement we are now able to release the
following information.

In response to the query :

2007/08 - £31,363
2008/09 - £26,770
2009/10 - £29,528

Please note the information supplied includes the cost of water, cups and
rental as we are unable to break this information down as requested, as we
do not record this level of detail on our electronic systems. The only way
to extract this information from our records would be to go back to each
individual invoice.

The costs will also include the cost of water supplied to members of the
public visiting Council offices (meeting rooms etc.) and some other sites
including some Care Homes as we are unable to breakdown the costs where
machines are used by both employees and the public.

Under the provision of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, information
has to be provided free of charge, if it does not exceed the statutory
limits, which for Local Government, is £450.00. This equates to one
person spending 18 hours determining whether the Council holds the
information, locating, retrieving and extracting the information. We
estimate it would be likely to take us outside the prescribed limit. If
you still require this information, please get back to us and we will
issue a fees notice. You may also consider if it would be possible to
narrow down your request to keep it within the time limit.

If you are dissatisfied with the service you have received in relation to
your request and wish to make a complaint or request a review, you should
contact:

Customer Services
Civic Offices
Euclid Street
Swindon
Website: [1]www.[Swindon Borough Council request email]

The complaints/review procedure involves a full review and an examination
of all the information by the Council's Monitoring Officer.

If you are not content with the outcome of our conclusion, you may apply
directly to the Information Commissioner's Office for a decision, before
contacting the Council. Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless
you have exhausted the Council's own complaints procedure.

The Information Officer can be contacted at:

The Information Commissioner's Office,
Wycliffe House
Water Lane
Wilmslow
Cheshire
SK9 5AF

Email: [2][email address]
Tel: 01625 545700 (ask for Freedom of Information)

If you require any further information concerning this matter, please
contact me as detailed, quoting the above reference number in any future
communications.

Yours sincerely
