Dear Sir or Madam, i have several questions i would like answered
under the freedom of information act.
1) What official or panel had the final say over the 8 minutes
London 2012 displays in Beijing during the closing ceremony and
will the same people be responsible for designing and approving the
London 2012 Opening and Closing ceremony.
2) At the time of the display, it received a lot of negative
feedback on some news programs by members of the public. Has any
research been done to gather feedback on the events, if so may i
see what conclusions have been made? If research has NOT been done
into this matter, why and who is responsible for failing to ask the
British public what they thought about how British taxpayers money
was spent.
3) What officials decided the Olympics Parade to celebrate the
British athletes medal haul should be held two months after the
Olympic events. Why could this of not been held sooner? Who had the
final say for this event to be held on a THURSDAY, a week day when
most of the population are at work or school. Was any research
gathered on the impact of holding this event on a weekday? If there
is a low turnout because of the two things mentioned before, will
someone be held accountable for this failure or will lessons be
learned?
A lot of people are unhappy about the lack of promotion Thursdays
parade has got and this may contribute to a low turnout. Who is
responsible for advertising this event, how much tax payers money
was paid to a company for advertising it and has any minister or
government official raised concerns about the victory parade.
4) I would like to see any documents available showing the decision
to only include the 1st and 4th verse of the British national
anthem at the 2008 Olympic closing ceremonies. Who made this
decision and will the FULL national anthem be included at the 2012
Olympic games or again just the 1st and 4th, which confused a lot
of people. Was the same thing done the last time Britain hosted the
Olympics, or was the full version used?
That is all for now, thanks for your help.
Yours faithfully,
Simon Wright
