Information on Location of Housing Estates

Mr I Agar made this Freedom of Information request to Haringey Borough Council

The request was successful.

From: Mr I Agar

1 July 2010

Dear Haringey Borough Council,

I am looking to obtain details on the location of council owned
housing estates in the London Borough of Haringey. Ideally i would
prefer a map that shows clearly the defined area of each estate
which would probably be something held by a GIS team on ArcView or
MapInfo type products. I have searched the internet to try and find
this information, however, i have only managed to find maps showing
details of estates for Lambeth (a pdf detailing all estates
boroughwide) and Hackney (which are included in individual ward
profiles).

I would be very grateful if you could supply a map of this
information naming the estates.

I am requesting this information to aid with social and
geographical research on deprivation and the incidence of crime in
social/high density housing areas.

Yours faithfully,

Mr I Agar

Dear Mr Agar

Freedom Of Information Act / Environmental Impact Regulations Act Request

Reference 810002766

Thank you for your email dated 05 July 2010.

Whilst Haringey council's website does have an interactive [1]map facility
this does not include council homes/estates (default page is address
search - see tabs across the top of the map).

We do however have a GIS system and this contains a layer which shows all
council owned homes and a boundary defining estates.

We have created a PDF version which is zoomable without loss of detail
down to individual dwellings. I cannot attach this to this email as it is
22mb in size, and exceeds our mail box limits - I can put this onto a CD
and post to you if you wish - if so, can you please provide your address.

We have also created PDF maps at ward level and area level (we have 4
areas).

I have attached one as an example. Please let me know if this is suitable
for your requirements.

All council owned dwellings are shown in red, and estates are bounded with
a blue line. Please note that this will not give you an estate name (this
is only available in the live internal system), but will show the location
of council owned dwellings.

We can provide a list of estates, which would include addresses/postcodes.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me on 020 8489
1197 or email at [email address]

If you are unhappy with the information we have provided, or the way we
handled your request please contact:

Dear Haringey Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Haringey Borough
Council's handling of my FOI request 'Information on Location of
Housing Estates'.

I received a response to my FOI from Kevin Loomes. The information
i had requested was available and was exactly what i wanted, having
seen an example of what was available on the 9th of July. I
responded to confirm this was what i was looking for and asked for
it to be emailed to me or mailed if that was more appropriate.
Following this i was expecting to receive everything i had asked
for shortly after, however, I have yet to hear anything back since.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,

Mr I Agar
