FOIR1840/10 - Freedom of Information Request

I am writing to confirm that the Agency has now completed its search
for the information you requested on 16 February 2010. Your request has
been answered under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000
(FOIA).

You asked:-

1. Total number of and names and job titles of all of your employees
who are Common Purpose Graduates.

The total number of employees who are Common Purpose Graduates is 7.
Please find below a breakdown by number, year and job title. Names of
junior civil servants have been removed, the removal does not affect the
information provided. In the circumstances it would be unfair to
release these personal details. Section 40(2) of FOIA exempts from
release the personal details of a third party. Junior civil servants
would have an expectation of privacy and that personal information would
not be released.

2007 - 2 Executive Officers and 1 Higher Executive Officer
2006 - 1 Executive Officer and 1 Higher Executive Officer
2005 - 1 Executive Officer and 1 Higher Executive Officer

2. Total amount spent by your organisation on Common Purpose programmes
for your staff in each year from 1997-2009 inclusive.

The programme cost was £3,000 per graduate. The total cost spent on the
programme was £21,000.

2007 - £9,000
2006 - £6,000
2005 - £6,000

DVLA did not use the programme prior to 2005 or since 2007.
