Dear Sir or Madam,
Immigration Minister, Liam Byrne mentioned that there is a consultation going on regarding the exercising rights of access to a child in the UK rule. He mentioned that this consultation information is available. Can you direct me to it's location please?
I am a divorced mother who was hoping to return and make an entry clearance application under this category but i'm worried that i'll be locked out of the UK if this is scrapped and denied reconciliation with my child.
If this category is scrapped, then it would be devastating for immigrant families with children. I thought the government was looking to keep families together and not tear them apart? With the gun and knife crime going on, wouldn't it make sense for a child to have both parents in it's life to steer him in the right direction?
I also thought that the UK commited to protecting children?
Yours faithfully,
Desola Adams.

Dear Freedom Of Information Team ( IND ),
Thank you for your reply and the link provided to the consultations.
I however didn't get the information I was after. In my initial request, I mentioned that Liam Bryne mentioned in the commons that there is an on going consultation on the Rights of Access to a child rule paragraph 246. However, on reading the consulations, there was no mention of this category at all. All other categories i.e Ancestry and Retired Persons were mentioned but not the Rights of Access.
Can you please look into this please? is it possible to make a decision on such a vital category without it being published? Could the immigration minister pull the carpet off our feet without notice?
Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
