Dear Mr Kumar

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - Ref: 854

Retired General Practitioners

Thank you for your email received 18 May 2008. You asked for information
regarding how many GP's have retired but continued to practice.

Your request for information has now been considered. I will answer your
queries below in turn:

Since 2004 there have not been any GP's who have retired and continued
to practice that have had their entry on the performers list removed and
had to reapply.

Since 2004 there are 52 GP's who have retired but continued to practice
that have had their entry on the performers list amended and has not had
to reapply. Please note that these 52 GPs were responsible to Dudley
PCT. This number does not include GPs who were responsible to other
Primary Care Trust's but who were included on the Dudley database
because they had Dudley residents as patients.

If you have any queries or concerns then please contact me.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request please contact
the Acting Head of Integrated Governance at Dudley PCT, St John's House,
Union Street, Dudley DY2 8PP or telephone 01384 366078 or email
[email address].
