Homophobic crime in Berwick-Upon-Tweed
Graeme MacLean made this Freedom of Information request to Northumbria Police
The request was successful.
From: Graeme MacLean
7 March 2010
Dear Northumbria Police Constabulary,
I write to you in regards to my latter private correspondence with
the constabulary regarding reported cases of homophobic crime in
Berwick-Upon-Tweed, you know the one in which I specifically asked
for the number of times this type of despicable cowardly crime was
reported and not details of individuals or there case but was still
refused this under condition that you do not release details of
individuals and there cases ?
Perhaps the constabulary miss read..
Well hear it is, with all due respect to yourself and to the Great
British public you strive to serve and protect, a freedom of
information request to yourselves via whatdotheyknow.com so the
fair-play British public can clearly see the: utmost Care, prompt
attention and of course the seriousness Northumbria police take in
regards to a type of crime that leaves my fellow British subjects
treated like a second class peasent and like dirt.
I await the full number of times (not individual cases or details)
of reported homophobic crimes in Berwick-Upon-Tweed between
01/01/2009 - 31/12/2009.
Im sure you have my and of course the publics best interests at
heart and not your own, and will act run to the dusty archive with
gusto to satisfy my request as the sense of security of the gay
community is your most profound and paramount of cares.
Regards.

The police do not work for the public, this is a myth. They may pretend they work for the public but don't. The next time you meet an officer ask him.
