20 November 2008

Dear Sir or Madam,

Could you please let me know which Home Office department was
responsible for supplying Lord West of Spithead information
relating to firearms Offences which he used in his written reply of
17th June 2008 to Lord Roberts of Llandudno - in particular the
information contained in column WA 159 as reported of Lords Hansard
of 17th June 2008?

Yours faithfully,

Mike Eveleigh

The Written Answer
Included around fourteen firearms offences which did not exist - such as "Having small-calibre pistol outside premises of licensed pistol club."

It seems that our firearms laws are now so complex that even the Home Office have difficulty understanding them, and they therefore have advised the House of Lords wrongly.

Christopher is looking forward to his reply.

All the best for Christmas,
