Dear Catherine Larkin,
you wrote
"There are 58 children/young people currently electively home
educated in Sefton.
One of these children/young people is subject to a Child Protection
Plan and six children/young people have been suspected of being
subject to neglect or abuse.
How many (if any) Serious Case Reviews or Joint Area Reviews have
reported with respect to home educated children in the LA.
There are no Serious Case Reviews which contain references to home
educated children in the local authority. "
Can you please clarify
a)the reason/type of abuse that is the concern of the Child
Protection Plan - and if it was neglect whether that is educational
or other
b) whether the 6 suspected cases were false alarms or founded cases
thank you very much
Yours sincerely,
