Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to know:
A. The number of persons in the local authority of compulsory
school age who are, or claimed to be, electively home educated and
who have been either suspected or found to be involved in child
abuse, neglect, forced marriage, sexual exploitation or domestic
servitude.
B. How many (if any) Serious Case Reviews or Joint Area Reviews
have reported with respect to home educated children in the LA.

Dear Mr Murton
Thank you for your email dated 28 March 2009, in which you have requested
information about home education and abuse statistics. We have considered
your request under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and
apologise for the delay in replying.
We have conducted a search into our records and confirm that there was one
record of elective home education with a child protection referral (now
closed) and one on-going with a child protection plan in place.
If you are unhappy with the way the department has handled your request
under the Freedom of Information Act, you may ask for an internal review.
You can do this by outlining the details of your complaint and either

If these two cases were due to emotional neglect/abuse perhaps it could also be asked if either of these were due to the assumptions of a home inspector, eg. socialisation issues/?home-education standards/limited views of religion/faith issues?
