Re - FI 09 0107
Further to my acknowledgement of your request, I have received some
information from the Adult and Children's Services Directorate and am now
in a position to respond to your request. I can confirm we do hold the
information requested.
You asked:
1) The number of persons in the local authority of compulsory school
age who are, or claimed to be, Electively Home Educated and
who have been either suspected or found to be involved in child abuse,
child neglect, forced marriage, sexual exploitation or
domestic servitude.
The Council is not aware of any home educated child that falls under this
category of child abuse, child neglect, forced marriage, sexual
exploitation or domestic servitude. (nil response)
2) How many (if any) Serious Case Reviews or Joint Area Reviews have
reported with respect to home educated children in the LA.
There have been no Serious Case reviews in respect of children home
educated. Also home education was not a feature of our JAR. (nil response)
I hope that this satisfies your request for information. If you are not
satisfied with how your request has been dealt with then you are free to
