HMCIP 2008 Report into Oakington IRC

Richard Taylor made this Freedom of Information request to Ministry of Justice

The request was successful.

12 December 2008

Could you please send me a copy of the HM Chief Inspector of
Prisons (HMCIP) report into the Oakington Immigration Reception
Centre which has recently been published.

The existence of the report is mentioned in an article on the BBC
news website published on the 12th of December 2008:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7777270.stm

At the time of writing, this report is not available on the HMCIP
website
(http://inspectorates.homeoffice.gov.uk/h...).
I would like to suggest it is made available online there as soon
as possible. In future I would suggest placing the report online at
the same time as it is released to the press. This would ensure
members of the public can obtain it and read it when it is in the
public eye.

I note that HMCIP say that FOI requests for information released
after the 9th of May 2007 should be directed to the Ministry of
Justice.

I would like to draw your attention to section 10.1 of the Freedom
of Information Act 2000 which states you must respond to requests
for information promptly.
