Dear Pat,
I am sorry the searches made already have not come up with the information
you requested on HM ships sunk in the last 35 years as targets or for use
as artificial reefs. (Though I did provide the information requested on HM
ships sunk from Acts of War). The sources I consulted in the RN
Historical, Munitions and Training branches did not have any information
on those parts of your request I was unable to help with.
In an organisation as large as the RN, and subject to as much change as
the RN has undergone in the last 35 years "consulting your records" over
this length of time, on subjects such as these is not necessarily a simple
matter. I will attempt engage other sections of the RN and MOD for the
information on ships sunk as reefs or having been targets you have
requested, but given the Christmas holidays are now almost upon us and
many sources are now away till January, I will not be able to respond to
you until later in January, and I would ask for your patience until then
Regards
