Dear Mr Trice ,
I refer to your 4 requests received on 22 July 2008 under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 for information about Higher Education Qualifiers by
Super Output Areas (SOAs). These requests were assigned reference numbers
2008/0062535, 2008/0062538, 2008/0062539 and 2008/0062540.
I am writing to advise you that following a search of our paper and
electronic records, I have established that the information you requested is
not held by this Department.
However, the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) are able to supply
data on SOAs. A member of their information provision team has confirmed
that they are able to supply data on higher education qualifiers by lower
and middle layers and intermediate geography. They are not, however, able to
supply data on upper layers. The boundaries for this layer have not yet been
set by the Office for National Statistics. Please see the link to their
website for more information on SOAs:

Information on lower and middle layers and intermediate geography is
available (for a fee) from the HESA Information Provision team by completing
the online data request form on the following webpage:

procedure.
Yours sincerely,
Jessica Ashton
