Dear Ministry of Defence,

Could you please provide me with a copy of the new Secretary of
State's Health Safety Policy Statement as the the one on MOD web
site relates to the previous Secretary of State and is therefore
out of date.

Dear DBR-SSDC-Safety Enquiries (MULTIUSER),

Thank you for the prompt reply. Can you please confirm that para 2
of the SoS Health and safety Statement which states

“Within the United Kingdom we comply with all legislation which
extends to the UK (including legislation giving effect to the UK
international obligations.”

means that Euratom and UK national legislation which implements the
requirements of Euratom now includes military activities.

Yours sincerely,

Fred WP Dawson

Dear Mr Dawson

Thank for your enquiry under the Freedom of Information Act, following up
from our response to your original (FOI 19-08-2010-152659-001 refers)
question concerning the updating of the Secretary of State for Defence's
Policy Statement.

The Secretary of State's for Defence Policy Statement makes it clear that,
in the UK, we comply with all legislation which extends to UK. In some
cases, that legislation itself provides us with exemptions, derogations or
disapplications. The situation regarding Euratom and defence requirements
remains unchanged.

If you are not satisfied with this response or you wish to complain about
any aspect of the handling of your request, then you should contact me in
the first instance. If informal resolution is not possible and you are
still dissatisfied then you may apply for an independent internal review
by contacting the Head of Corporate Information, 1st Floor, MOD Main
Building, Whitehall, SW1A 2HB (e-mail [1][email address]). Please note
that any request for an internal review must be made within 40 working
days of the date on which the attempt to reach informal resolution has
come to an end.

If you remain dissatisfied following an internal review, you may take your
complaint to the Information Commissioner under the provisions of Section
50 of the Freedom of Information Act. Please note that the Information
Commissioner will not investigate your case until the MOD internal review
process has been completed. Further details of the role and powers of the
Information Commissioner can be found on the Commissioner's website,
