Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to request the following information held by
the Authority under the provisions of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000:

Please supply me with:

1) an electronic copy of the Local Authority's reply to the
Independent review of Home Education recently conducted by Graham
Badman at
http://www.myopinion.org.uk/dcsf/homeedu...

2) any official reply made to the open consultation on the above
that was hosted at the DCSF's e-consultation site.

3) any evidence and/or research you hold relating to the ability of
home-educated children to meet the following aims / outcomes,
according to the full definitions for the Every Child Matters
framework:
a) Be healthy
b) Stay safe
c) Enjoy and achieve
d) Make a positive contribution
e) Achieve econimic well-being

March 2009 relating to the Independent review of Home Education recently
conducted by Graham Badman. This information is not held by the London
Borough of Hackney but may be held by the Learning Trust who administer
Education in the Borough and so we have passed on your request to them.

Whilst the Learning Trust is not a 'public authority' for the purposes
of the Freedom of Information Act, it has developed a policy which, so
far as its constitution applies, complies with the provisions within the
act.

Barry- we put in another FOI yesterday to Hackney and were told that they have handed thre Education contract out to The Learning Trust. I spoke with them by phone and they say they cannot get into this site although they have your request. They also have no contact details for you. I asked the same question verbally and just got sent a response by breda.connolly@learningtrust.co.uk.

Basically the person who filled in the review responses is no longer in Hackney EHE dept. There also was no way to save the info when filled in on-line (that same old chestnut) so the response from The Learning trust is that they do not have the information. You could email Breda and ask her to forward you this reply to you. Tania
