Dear Sir or Madam,
I am looking for information on how much total grant money was
allocated to community/voluntary organizations by your council each
year between 1998 and 2009, and which community organizations
received how much grant money each year between 1998 and 2009.
Yours faithfully,
Eren Tatari

Dear Eren,
Thank you for your Freedom of Information request below. Having
referred your request to our Finance division I should advise you that
we will not hold information going back as far as 1998. I have however
asked them to compile a response for the years available. I will
endeavour to respond as soon as possible and in any extent within the
statutory 20 working day deadline (i.e. by 30 March).

Dear Eren,
Further to your Freedom of Information request of 2 March. Please find below my response.
Having reviewed this request with a number of areas of the Council I can confirm that it would take longer than 18 hours to collate and produce the information, as we do not have one central grant allocation register.
The costs involved in compiling this information would therefore be above the appropriate £450 cost limit and as such I am refusing your request under the exemption contained in section 12(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. However, if you would like to be more specific about the area of grant allocations you are interested in I would be happy to look at this again.
If you are dissatisfied with the way in which your Freedom of Information request has been dealt with you can request an internal review by emailing: [email address] (Please quote the reference number above) or by writing to:

If you remain dissatisfied with the outcome of the review you have a further right to appeal to the Information Commissioner, who regulates the implementation of the Freedom of Information Act. The Commissioner can be contacted at the following address:

Dear Goodwin,Ian,
What I am looking at specifically is how much of total community
grants each year was allocated to Muslim organizations (religious,
educational, ....etc.) between 1998-2009.
Most of the other London borough councils have provided a list of
main/major voluntary sector/community grants for each year, and I
went through them to add up the grants allocated to Muslim
organizations.
Do you have a list of major voluntary sector/community grants
Lambeth council gives out each year?
Thank you for your assistance.
Yours sincerely,
Eren Tatari

Dear Goodwin,Ian,
In response to your previous reply explaining the time it would
take to find the information I requested (grant allocations
1998-2009), I would like to modify my request.
Would you be able to provide information for any 1 year in each
term: 1998-2002, 2002-2006, and 2006-2009? For example, grant
allocations for 2001-2002, 2003-2004, 2007-2008.
This would be grant allocations for 3 years in total, and should
take considerably less hours to compile.
Yours sincerely,
Eren Tatari

Dear Sir or Madam,
I understand the conditions set out in the Freedom of Information
Act regarding the time it would take to acquire requested
information. Hence, if you are unable to provide the list of grant
allocations for each year between 1998-2009, then I would like to
modify my request to make sure that it would take considerably less
amount of time and would still fulfill my need for this
information.
I would like to have the list of organizations and how much grant
money they recieved from the council for only 3 years:
Any 1 year during the 1998-2002 term.
Any 1 year during the 2002-2006 term.
Any 1 year during the 2006-2010 term.
The officers may choose a year for which the information is
available electronically therefore would take less time to compile
it.
I hope that in conjunction with the Freedom of Information Act,
your council would respond positively to this information request.
Yours sincerely,
Eren Tatari

Dear Goodwin,Ian,
Thank you very much for your reply. This does answer my inquiry for
some of the years I am doing research on.
The final piece of information I would like to ask you is: how much
TOTAL grant money did the Lambeth council give to all organizations
for any purpose during 2007-08 and 2008-09?
I assume and hope that this information is readily available.
Thank you very much in advance.
Yours sincerely,
Eren Tatari
