Geographic number for Accounts Offices
John Bradbury made this Freedom of Information request to HM Revenue and Customs
The request was successful.
From: John Bradbury
8 June 2009
Dear Sir or Madam,
Will you please provide me with the geographic numbers to enable me
to contact Accounts Offices Shipley and Cumbernauald rather than by
using the (more) expensive 0845 routing number which simply routes
to the Accounts Office concerned,
Yours faithfully,
John Bradbury

Dear Armstrong, Michael (G&S),
I'm sorry, but your reply did not give me the information requested
which was for a GEOGRAPHIC number for each of the accounts office
(ie 01xx 02xx 03xx) and not an 0845xx number.
The reason for the precise request is that my phone tariff allows
me FREE calls to geographic numbers (with no connection charge)
whilst I am charged 8p connection and then an amount per minute
dependant on the time of day for each call. This charge starts from
the time I am connected to your switchboard and am waiting for the
call to be connected - last time 10 minutes.
I look forward to your early reply
Yours sincerely,
John Bradbury

Dear Newill, Karen (DMB Information, Security and IT),
Thank you for your reply which has partly answered my question but
has raised another point which needs elucidation.
You quote 0845 numbers as alternatives for self Assessment / PAYE
and for Self Assessment debit card payments which does not satisfy
my original query.
Can you therefore please let me know the geographic numbers for
both the SA / PAYE and the SA card payments for Cumbernauld AO and
for Shipley AO
Yours sincerely,
John Bradbury
