Future of Tobacco Control consultation

John Walker made this Freedom of Information request to Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman

Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman did not have the information requested.

From: John Walker

3 January 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

"In a report on the Future of Tobacco Control consultation
published on Tuesday 9th December 2008, the Department of Health
appears to have deliberately omitted evidence offered by the
Tobacco Retailers Alliance.

Ken Patel, Leicester retailer and National Spokesman for the
Tobacco Retailers Alliance, said: "First the Minister refused to
meet with retailers, now they have censored our formal response to
a public consultation.""

from:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopi...

1. Why was evidence offered by the Tobacco Retailers Alliance
deliberately omitted?

2. Why did the minister refuse to meet with the retailers?

Yours faithfully,

John Walker
