further request to clarify your response to my F O I request

Germain Gross made this Freedom of Information request to Department of Health

Department of Health did not have the information requested.

From: Germain Gross

22 January 2009

Dear Sir or Madam, r.e. your reply to my previous request, your ref
D E 00000379334

In your reply to my request for information you say that 653
patients have been recorded to have suffered permanent health
damage as a consequence of haloperidol prescribed by the nhs since
1980. You also state that many of these reports are in fact
imaginary health damage, since the patients are mentally ill.

1 Please would you now tell me how many patients have been
prescribed Haloperidol by nhs staff since 1980 ?

2 Please would you also tell me, exactly how the nhs makes a
clinical distinction between an imaginary report of permanent
health damage caused by an nhs prescription of Haloperidol, and one
that exists ?

3 Please would you also inform me wiether this figure of 653
patients for the period of 1980- 2009 in the entire nhs includes
all the 'imaginary' complaints, or are these in another
compilation?

4 Please provide me with the number of these imaginary cases of
permanent health damage caused by Haloperidol.

5 Please provide me with the explicit nhs policy regarding Tardive
Dyskenesia. Does the nhs recognise the existence of Tardive
Dyskenesia caused by Haloperidol prescription?

6 Does the figure of 653 patients suffering from permanent health
damage caused by nhs prescription of Haloperidol include all
patients suffering from Tardive Dyskenesia, treated during the
period of 1980-2009 by the nhs ?

7 Does the nhs ever regard cases of brain damage caused by stroke
as imaginary ? If so, how often does this occur , (imaginary brain
damage immediately following a stroke )? Is it- very frequently,
frequently, not frequently, almost never, or never ? Please supply
figures.

8 What are the forms of permament health damage caused by
Haloperidol, and recorded by the nhs? Please supply me with all the
various different permanent health damage types caused by
Haloperidol. Please seperate these into two categories, the
'imaginary', and the real.

9 Pleaase inform me of exactly what the nhs's policy is towards
patients suffering from excessive permanent health damage caused by
prescription of Haloperidol.

10 Does the nhs deny that Haloperidol ever causes permanent health
damage, and if so , does it then claim that all 653 patients
recorded as having permanent health damage caused by Haloper4idol,
to be an entirely imaginary event, a collection of the imaginary
health problems of mental patients ? If so, why does it colllect
these records of permanent health damager from prescribed
Haloperidol, if it believes them to be imaginary ?

11 What treatment does the nhs prescribe for imaginary severe
damage caused by the prescription of haloperidol?

12 What treatment does the nhs prescribe for actual severe health
damage caused by Haloperidol?

Yours sincerely, Germaine Gross
