Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like the answer to these question please
1) Are the employees of The Independent Traffic Penalty Tribunal
for Shropshire, employed by Shropshire Council?
2) Is the 'Independent' Traffic Penalty Tribunal, funded solely
from the PCN revenue at the rate of 60? per PCN?
Yours faithfully,
Susan Jackson

Dear Ms Jackson
In response to your request for information:
1) Are the employees of The Independent Traffic Penalty Tribunal
for Shropshire, employed by Shropshire Council?
Quote from Department of Transport, Traffic Management Act 2004 - The
Secretary of State's Guidance to Local Authorities on the Civil
Enforcement of Parking Contraventions
"Adjudication
para 100 - Adjudicators are appointed jointly by all the relevant local
authorities with Civil Parking Enforcement powers, with the agreement of
the Lord Chancellor, and are wholly independent. They have a judicial
position and should be treated accordingly."
2) Is the 'Independent' Traffic Penalty Tribunal, funded solely
from the PCN revenue at the rate of 60? per PCN?
Currently each local authority with Civil Parking Enforcement powers is
charged 65 pence per Penalty Charge Notice issued, by PATROL. Further
information about the Traffic Penalty Tribunal can be obtained from their
website at www.trafficpenaltytribunal.gov.uk and the PATROL web address is
www.patrol-uk.info
I hope this information is useful to you.
