Good Morning Mr Thomas,

Thank you for your information request to the Borough of Poole regarding
requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act.

Unlike many other local authorities, we have not yet adopted a suitable
single process for the monitoring and recording of FOI requests.
Requests can come in to the Authority either via the
[Poole Borough Council request email] address that you yourself used, or to
individual service units.

Since the inception of the Act 446 requests have been received via the
[Poole Borough Council request email] portal
We have also been able to identify a further 199 requests which have
been sent directly to the Service Units.

In addition to these two figures, there have been some areas where we
have been unable to identify if the request was double counted. There
are a further 138 requests recorded by the Service Units where we are
unclear as to the origin - for example requests received via the portal
and transferred internally for response by a Unit are sometimes not
recorded as internal transfers so may be double counted, as may those
(such as this request) where more than one unit has been involved in the
response.

In terms of response outside of the 20 working days, our Internal
auditors conducted a review of requests in May 2006 and found that 13
were responded to outside of the 20 working days. A repeat of this
review in May 2008 showed that 5 requests had been responded to outside
of 20 working days in the intervening period.
