I refer to your request for the following information and apologise for the
delay in replying.

Since the inception of the Freedom of Information Act to date

1)how many requests for information under the act has the council
received?

2)how many have times has the council failed to respond within the
statutory 20 day period?

The response is:

1. For the period January 2005 to 31st October 2008, Enfield Council has
received 719 requests.

2. Of these, 170 were closed outside of the target date - the requestors
would have been advised in advance that some of these responses
would take longer than the 20 days.
