Dear Isle of Anglesey Council,

I am contacting you under the Freedom of Information Act. I
understand you have 20 working days to answer my questions.

I would appreciate all responses to be sent via email, with
necessary supporting material attached where appropriate. Please
send all information and responses to [email address].

I would like you to provide me with the following pieces of
information:

1/. The total amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) generated by you as a
council for the calendar years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. For 2010
please provide a figure to-date.

2/. The amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) generated by council owned
ICT equipment for the calendar years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. For
2010 please provide a figure to-date.

3/. Please quantify what reductions in CO2 you as a council have
achieved through new ICT projects for the calendar years 2007,
2008, 2009 and 2010. For 2010 please provide a figure to-date.

4/. Are you fully compliant with the Government Connect Secure
Extranet (GCSX) standard. If not please outline which elements you
are compliant with and whether their are any plans to address the
areas where you aren’t compliant.

If you are unable to fulfil all parts of this enquiry, please
provide whatever information you are able to.

Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act, I expect a
response on or before March 11, 2010. As permitted by the Freedom
of Information Act, the information you provide may be disclosed
publicly post publication.

Dear Lauren Holt,

With reference to your request for information, I am advised that:

1. Carbon Dioxide emissions are calculated by Isle of Anglesey County
Council on a financial year basis, i.e. from 1 April to 31 March. The
total amount of Carbon Dioxide generated by Isle of Anglesey County
Council on street lighting and in its buildings for the financial year
2008/09 was 11,324 tonnes. The total amount of Carbon Dioxide generated
by Isle of Anglesey County Council on street lighting and in its
buildings for the financial year 2009/10 to date, from the energy
invoices seen to date, was 7,150 tonnes. These totals do not include
the Carbon Dioxide emissions by tenants in buildings rented from Isle of
Anglesey County Council. Unfortunately, there are no data available
prior to the 2008/09 financial year.

Information about the total amount of Carbon Dioxide emissions
generated by Isle of Anglesey County Council's fleet of vehicles is not
held.

3. No information available.

4. Yes, Isle of Anglesey County Council is fully compliant with the
Government Connect Secure Extranet (GCSX) Standard.
