FOI Holiday Cover

Paul Grimshaw made this Freedom of Information request to Hillingdon Borough Council

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Hillingdon Borough Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

From: Paul Grimshaw

Dear Sir or Madam,

As per the response in various FOI requests on the
whatdotheyknow.com website, Richard Ingle the FOI Officer has been
unable to meet the statutory time frame for responding to FOI
requests.

Whilst everyone is allowed paternity leave and holiday, clearly no
one was supplied by Hillingdon Council to cover the FOI requests
why this officer was away. As Hillingdon has a statutory obligation
to respond to requests in good time and no later than 20 days, why
was this?

Please can you provide details as to how the position was covered
in this instance and what the standard policy is to cover this
position if one exists, and if so, why was it not followed?

Yours faithfully,

Paul Grimshaw

Dear Mr Grimshaw

We write in response to your request below and apologise for the delay
in responding.

There is no specific policy for dealing with FOI requests in the
absence of the FOI Officer.

If the FOI Officer is on leave then the work is covered by making the
best use of other available resources within the team.
