I would be grateful if you would provide me with a full list of
fixed CCTV camera locations in the London Borough of Hackney. I am
referring to cameras in public places that Hackney Council operate,
or have access to.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - request for information.
I acknowledge your request for information received on 04 February 2009.

against our decision. Information relating to this will be included in
any refusal notice issued.
If the information you request contains reference to a third party then
they may be consulted prior to a decision being taken on whether or not
to release the information to you.
There may be a fee payable for this information. This will be considered
and you will be informed if a fee is payable. In this event the fee must
be paid before the information is processed and released. The 20 working
day time limit for responses is suspended until receipt of the payment.

The local authority refused to give any detailed information on CCTV locations for a number of reasons, citing several different exemptions(!).
IANALY but I think their refusal is a breach of data protection - as you have a right to know when and where you have been recorded so you can ask for copies of tapes.
