First UK Criminal Trial Without a Jury for 400 Years

The request was partially successful.

It has been reported that the trial of John Twomey, Glen Cameron, Peter Blake and Barry Hibberd who are facing charges including conspiracy to rob and firearm possession relating to a £1.75m raid at a Heathrow warehouse in February 2004 is to begin on the 12th of January 2010.

I am writing to request the release of :

i/ the scheduled time, date and location for the beginning of the trial
ii/ details of any special arrangements for press and public attendance
iii/ any estimation of the expected duration of the trial

Could you let me know if the information requested is subject to change; if it is I would like to ask you to please keep me up to date with the current information.

To clarify: I am not requesting information regarding past trials, only regarding the trial reportedly scheduled for the 12th of January 2010.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your email. I apologise for the delay in replying, I only received your email yesterday. Please note that your request is not an Freedom of Information request.

The trial is due to start on 12th January 2010 in Court 35 at the Royal Courts of Justice before The Honourable Mr Justice Treacy. It is estimated to last 3-4 months.

There will be seating available for both press/public.
