Dear Mr McPherson,
I am writing to confirm that the Department has now completed its search
for the information which you requested on 30 May 2009.
The Department offers no reward or remuneration to members of staff who
are qualified first aiders. Time can be taken off, as part of the
individual's learning and development, to learn, refresh or update first
aid skills. The Department offers:
* New First Aiders: First Aid at Work - 4 day intensive course
* Certificate Renewal: Refresher Course - 2 day course
* Skills Update: 1 day course.
Time off for these courses must be agreed with the individual's line
manager first.
The information supplied to you is protected by the Copyright, Designs and
Patents Act 1988. Most documents supplied by this Department will have
been produced by government officials and will be Crown Copyright. You are
free to use it for your own purposes, including any non-commercial
research you are doing and for the purposes of news reporting. Any other
