Dear Sir or Madam,

The following data is requested for each CPZ area, for each of the last ten (10) years, as follows:

1 – The COST of establishing a CP Zone.

To include, but not be restricted to, the cost of new signposts, road markings, installation of parking meters / ticket machines, recruitment of required additional wardens, training of aforesaid, etc.

2 – The MAINTENANCE COSTS for each zone.

To include, but not limited to, salaries of wardens, the cost of replacing signposts, replacing road markings, repairing or replacing ticket machines, vehicle uplift lorries, salary costs for these lorries, ongoing training for wardens, annual production of parking permits, etc..

3 – The total INCOME from the sale of residents parking permits.

4 – The total INCOME from the sale of ‘park & display’ tickets.

5 – The total INCOME from fines applied to incorrectly parked vehicles (whether residents or visitors) where vehicle removal is not applied.

6 – The total INCOME from release of vehicles uplifted for parking violations.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION REF 1-110372619 [REQUEST FOR FINANCES OF CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES]  request for additional time
 
1.      I am writing in connection with your request for information logged on 20 May 2008 about the finances of controlled parking zones in Edinburgh. This request is being handled in accord with the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 as it relates to the state of human health and safety, to built structures such as roads, and to policies, measures and plans designed to protect the natural and built environments.
 
2.      A draft reply has now been prepared and is currently being checked. Regrettably such checking and the subsequent despatch to you is taking longer than desirable, therefore, in terms of Regulation 7 I am writing to ask for an extension of time to complete the checking and despatch of your response.

I note that you are requesting an extension to the statutory 20 days permitted for a reply to be submitted.

Please will you inform me of the additional number of days within which you are able to make a reply. As you already have a reply letter in draft, requiring only final checking, I would not expect this additional time to be very great.
